The Japanese are one of the most highly requested civilizations for AOEIV. Famous for the Samurai of the Sengoku Jidai ("Warring States") period. They are featured in many popular games covering history and fantasy, including every game in the Age of Empires and Civilization series. In this concept, Japan focuses on a quality over quantity playstyle, with powerful units that are limited by their high costs. Additionally, the Shogun hero unit allows Japan to quickly deal with counters easily.
